Have you ever come across a fragrance that just holds your breadth and you feel that this is it? You have found the right fragrance that you may been looking forever. This is kind of the feeling I experienced when sniffed the Magic Perfume Spray from the house of Layer’r Wottagirl. Layer’r Wottagirl is not a new range and people are pretty much familiar with the kind of body mist they offer but I am talking about a specific perfume spray that lasts longer, smells amazing, and doesn’t burn a hole in your pocket. Let’s look at the details of this fragrance, shall we? Packaging All Layer’r Wottagirl Perfume Sprays come in a silver and red colored cardboard box with a slit on one side that allows the tester for the perfume to hold. This is an amazing concept introduced by this brand that you get to sniff the perfume even before you have purchased the actual fragrance. Once opened, the box houses a beautiful transparent red glass bottle, which looks stunning by itself. The quality of the bottle is quite good as it is quite bulky. It has a plastic lid that is in the red color as well, which is quite sturdy too. Overall, the packaging is understated and quite classic and I like it a lot. Scent Talking about the actual scent, I cannot describe how beautiful it is. It is sweet, floral, musky, stylish, and chic. It has a character of its own that demands attention in a very positive and heartwarming way. It is quite a captivating scent that will linger on to your senses for a nice long time. There is definitely a positive and modern vibe going on about this fragrance, which will boost your confidence and make the aura around you happy. This is one scent that I think I will go back to repurchasing once am over with the existing bottle. I love it that much and this means a lot as I have quite a lot of fragrance; going back another time to one bottle surely indicates how much I love it. Longevity and Silage Since sweet scents tend to last for a decent time, it is but obvious that this has a decent longevity. Not all in Layer’r Wottagirl perfume spray range can boast of a great longevity and silage like this one. All of the fragrances in this range last for not more than 4hours but this can last for a good 6hours as well. This is dependent of the climatic situation and your body chemistry and this can vary. However, am sure it will not perform terrible for anyone as it starts off quite strong. Silage is also quite good but it fades with the longevity, like any other good perfume does. So, no complains on this ground as well. Quantity and Price Point For a 100ml bottle, you pay Rs. 599. However, this goes on discount quite often on Nykaa and you can save some money and purchase it at a much lesser price. Like I did. I got it something around Rs. 400. So, yes, you can get steal deals on this as well. Final Thoughts Overall, I have nothing negative to talk about this fragrance. This is one fragrance that am so glad that I came across. What makes it special is that this is an Indian brand. So, the feeling of using it is all the more satisfactory as in purchasing this am kind of contributing to our economy. Doesn’t matter how small or big the contribution is; am happy to do it. So, I highly recommend this perfume to you and am sure you will not be disappointed if you try this. You can be a girl next door or a diva, sweetness is something every woman is endowed with it. How you project it is something entirely dependent on you. However, there is an easy way to project it and get everyone wrapped around with your sweetness and that is applying a sweet smelling perfume. Layer’r Wottagirl Perfume Sprays are something that totally serves the purpose and the one am currently referring to is the A’DORE variant in their perfume spray range. This one is a proper fruity, floral, and sweet fragrance and we are going to look at every aspect of this fragrance in detail now. Packaging The name is justified in the packaging itself. I just adore the packaging. The outer packaging is a card board box where in one corner you have a slit and a tester of the perfume inside is placed here. I loved this part as even before opening the box, I am getting to smell the fragrance. Superb concept. Once you take the tester out and open the layers of the cardboard box of this fragrance, you reach a stunning blue colored transparent glass bottle. Considering this is an Indian brand, I would have happily given 10/10 in this category as I love every bits of the packaging, save one. The plastic blue transparent cap that comes with this fragrance is not sturdy enough to hold on to the atomizer/spray of the bottle. It is just plan flimsy and comes off pretty easily. This needs to be improved as we can do without an additional tester, but the lid of a fragrance is of utmost importance. So, this needs to be improved. Scent Moving on to the actual scent. It is sweet. If you are not a person who enjoys sweet fragrances, then you may want to steer clear of this one. However, if sweet, fruity, and floral are the notes you look forward to in a fragrance, I can guarantee you that this one will not be a disappointment at all. It has apples, lavender, and cedar wood as its notes. So, it emanates a sweet, beautiful, and subtle aroma that uplifts your mood along with the people around you. It is an invigorating fragrance that has a charm of its own. Trust me just give this one a try and you will also start adoring this fragrance; just like its name. So, a 9 in this category from me. Longevity and Silage This is the category where the fragrance falls slightly short but I believe that will also vary based on the body chemistry of the person wearing this. Being a sweet fragrance, this can be worn at any point of time in a day and throughout the year. I tried this during the autumn and winters, and I think the longevity is not that good on skin. If you spritz it on your pulse points, it will last you not more than 3 hrs maximum. However, this works amazingly with clothes. I could even sniff the lingering effects of the fragrance on my clothes, the next day. So, I think it is great as an apparel fragrance, rather than a body fragrance. The projection is quite good on the other hand. You wear it and people around you will notice you for sure, but it will start fading as the fragrance starts wearing off. Since reapplication on skin is required after 3hrs, the silage gains strength with the reapplication also. So, a 7 in this category as this is not distinctly mentioned as an apparel fragrance. Quantity and Price Point
For a 100ml bottle, you pay Rs. 599, which is not bad if I consider it as a perfume. Nonetheless, it is mentioned as perfumed spray and not an EDT or EDP, so I will suggest you not to buy this fragrance on full price ever. There are sales going on throughout the year nowadays and whenever you find this on sale, then I suggest you grab it. After all the scent is worth the penny. It is gorgeous in every aspect of the scent. So, it would be a shame not to try this but definitely not on a full price. Nykaa is soon going to have their Pink Friday Sale, so this might be a good time to check this fragrance out. Final Thoughts The lid of the bottle and the longevity needs to be improved. Sure. But then again I am simply in love with this fragrance. What makes it all the more dear is that it is an Indian brand and I think we should support our country’s brand so that they can improve and evolve. So, yes I definitely recommend this fragrance that can make you bring out your inner sweetness and charm. We all know that EDTs are EDPs are quite expensive. Especially if you are buying a fragrance that is not made in India. That is the exact perception that we have in our minds, right? In most cases, it is true. However, I have come across a brand called Dorall Collection which hails from UAE or United Arab Emirates that offers perfumes at great prices. Yes, like I mentioned in the title you can get your hands on these fragrances from Dorall Collection at less than Rs. 300 depending on the discounts. The fragrance under microscope today is Golden Dew Intense for women and you will get all grounds covered in this review.
Packaging The packaging for this perfume is nice but it is quite similar to Gucci’s Guilty. If not entirely as this has a transparent bottle quite opposed to the opaque Gucci bottle, but the structure and look and feel is quite similar. However, I am not complaining as it is okay to get inspired and come out with a design of their own as this is not a straight copy. The lid is of good quality as decently weighted. The bottle is not flimsy in any way so yes, overall quite nice. I can rate a 7 out of 10 in this category. After all it is not an entirely original idea, right! Scent This is where the magic happens. Once you open the bottle and spritz in on your pulse points and body, you are engulfed in a fresh, floral, spicy, and strong fragrance. This being an intense version can come across as a bit excessive at first for people who have sensitive noses and experience headache. So, only if you are strong nosed, you will find this quite pleasurable. Having said that I can also say that the fragrances from Dorall Collection are strong but not as strong as Ajmal’s fragrances. Compared to Ajmal, they seem milder to my nose. The notes for this fragrance includes pink pepper at the top, geranium, peach, and lilac at the middle, and amber and patchouli at the base. With Patchouli as a base note, it is expected to be strong, but the pink pepper, peach, and lilac give it a different character. The concoction is quite good and am totally loving it. I can rate 8 out of 10 in this category. Longevity and Silage Being EDT, this lasts not more than 3-4 hours and in the first 2 hours, the silage is decent. After that it becomes a skin scent that you alone can smell. It will project again only after reapplication of the perfume, so you will have to carry this around. I would have rated average this category, but given the price point, I am ready to ignore that. After all there are a lot of expensive fragrances as well, which doesn’t project or last well. So, there is nothing to penalize this affordable fragrance in this category. So, I can rate 7 out of 10 in this category. Quantity and Price Point You don’t get various sizes in this to try out. Only 100ml is available which retails for Rs. 599. Yes, that is the marked price for this fragrance. When I bought it on Myntra, I paid Rs. 263, which was a whopping save. So, regardless of how many hours does it last on the skin or clothes, I am quite happy with this scent. After all, even fragrances from The Body Shop doesn’t last that long but it is their scent that drives people to buy their fragrances, even at the high prices at which they are offered. So, at this price, am not complaining at all. I give a 10 out of 10 in this category. Anybody can wear this and anybody can afford this. Final Thoughts If you are ready to try a fragrance that lasts decent, doesn’t burn a hole in your pocket, comes in a beautiful bottle, and makes you feel good, then you can try this. I liked this fragrance quite a lot, so can happily recommend it to everybody. The Ever Cheerful and Merry Fragrance – Japanese Cherry Blossom Body Mist from The Body Shop9/23/2020 I have never come across a person who doesn’t like the scent of Cherry Blossom flowers from Japan. I know, in India no one gets to smell how the original cherry blossoms smell like in Japan. However, the versions that we get here are the ones that we have to do with. From body lotions to creams, body mists to perfumes, Japanese Cherry Blossom always wins the heart of fragrance lovers across the country and the world. Being no exception to this huge craze around cherry blossoms, I tend to reach out for every cherry blossom fragrance and the body mist from The Body Shop has been my longtime companion in this love for cherry blossom. Believe it or not this was my first Japanese Cherry Blossom fragrance so I cherish it more than any other brand’s version of this scent. So, here is every detail about this fragrance.
Packaging Every TBS body mist has their classic packaging of transparent cylindrical glass bottle with a black lid. The lids are usually made of very thin type of metal, but they are not super sturdy as they can come off easily. I love the fact that The Body Shop doesn’t use plastic for fragrances and glass bottles. To few people, this maybe an inconvenience as carrying a glass bottle around is risky. However, my bottles have been perfectly safe during my travels or regular visit to the office. So, this is never an issue for me. All over the bottle, there is a sticker with transparent floral patterns in black and at the center of the bottle, the name of the fragrance is written against a pink background. Overall, from the packaging perspective, I can give this fragrance 9 out of 10 strictly because of the flimsy lid and nothing else. Scent A classic cherry blossom fragrance is something you can never go wrong with. Same goes for this one. It is delicate, sweet, and floral fragrance. The top note in this body mist comprises cherry blossom petals, at the heart you get a hint of magnolia, while at the base you get a touch of hinoki wood accords. Together, they create a subtle and surreal fragrance that you will go sniffing all the way. It is an amazing fragrance that is great for sensitive noses. This will never give you a headache as it is mild, gentle and comforting to the senses. It is kind of a fragrance that can instantly cheery you up and make you feel happy. For the scent, I can give this fragrance 9 out of 10. It is kind of a safe fragrance to use and gift as well. Longevity and Silage This is where the fragrance’s rating in my eyes drops slightly because the lasting power for the body mists are not incredible. I have heard and read tons of reviews where the reviewer has mentioned about the lack of longevity in the body mists from The Body Shop. However, on my skin these last for something around 3hrs – 4hrs, which is great because there are several EDTs or eau de toilettes in the market with that kind of lasting power. So, I am not complaining much on this ground a lot. Yes, definitely if the lasting power and silage is worked upon, it will be great. The silage is decent but after a while people won’t recognize or smell this on you at all. After reapplication, definitely you get the same performance cycle from the start. For this category, I can give 8 out of 10. Quantity and Price Point All The Body Shop’s body mists come in 100 ml bottles and their prices vary. This one in particular is expensive as it retails for Rs. 1,195, which is quite a lot for a body mist. The price point would have been a bit better justified if the fragrance lasted or projected sufficiently for long hours. Since that is not the case here, it is overpriced. The fragrance is fabulous but the price should have been lesser. This is a category where I can give 6 out of 10. If you consider this to be lenient then I may say that their products are organically made or the elements are organically procured. Which is why, this is the least I can go for them. After all, organic stuffs are expensive. Final Thoughts Hm... My final thoughts is not hard to guess I think. The cons are the price point and longevity, but I am ready to overlook that as the scent itself is stunning. So, I would recommend you to try this fragrance for sure. However, be a smart buyer and order in your fragrance during the discounts that keep on running on The Body Shop’s website. You can enjoy their fragrance and save some money as well. As I review this fragrance, I am slightly stumped with the name and the fragrance. The fragrance in focus today is Gardenia from the house of Zara and today we are going to dissect (read look at all aspects of) this fragrance to know this Eau de Parfum a bit better. So, let’s start. Packaging Like all Zara perfumes, this one also comes in a cardboard box and has the color scheme of white and dirty purple going on. Pretty standard packaging for Zara fragrance and it came sealed on the top, which leaves a chance for the perfume bottle to slip down through the bottom. Just saying, this part can be slightly improved. However, with my recent experience with Zara’s delivery, I can say this is better. It is improving. To know about my previous experience with Zara’s online delivery. Check out my video on YouTube or check below. Anyway, coming back to the fragrance; this belongs to the Leather Collection and so the packaging has it mentioned in text and the purple is textured to give it a leather-like appearance. The cap is purple in color and quite sturdy, and the bottle is transparent. This is how the 30ml bottle that I own, looks like. The 100ml is a stunning bottle which comes in its own leather case. Absolutely gorgeous and definitely looks great on the vanity. Overall, a good packaging and I can give 90 out of 100 for the packaging. Keeping 10 only for the delivery not being 100% safe as the seal was not there at the bottom. Scent Coming to the actual scent. One word. Great. As a fragrance, just like any other Zara fragrance, this one is a keeper. I have also read somewhere on the internet that it is the closest dupe of YSL’s Black Opium. I had a small tester of Black Opium so when I smelled Zara’s Gardenia, I remembered that smell. So, yes it is kind of a more affordable alternative for Yves Saint Laurent’s Black Opium and one of the must try ones for me. However, I cannot fathom why is it called Gardenia? You know what notes have gone into this perfume? It is orange blossom, coffee, and vanilla. So, why is it called Gardenia? There is no element of the gardenia flower in this perfume and I have other gardenia fragrances as well. So I know quite well how Gardenia smells like and it is in no way similar to this. This is rather a cozy, intense, feminine, and to some extent sensual fragrance. However, this is definitely not floral. It is fruity and gourmandish. I don’t know why even Fragrantica mentions it as floral oriental. I can’t get a hint of either. It is neither floral nor oriental, especially from the point of view that this doesn’t have any amber in it. Anyway as a perfume, it is absolutely beautiful, strong, and modern fragrance. Quite similar to the kind I like and am absolutely loving it. So, the scent gets around 90 again, 10 gone due to the confusion in the name. Longevity and Silage The silage is not good. I mean you can smell it on you for quite a decent time, but when it comes to others, they won’t be able to smell this on you for long. However, on my skin and pulse points, this lasts decently long. I can sniff it on me for a good 4-5 hrs. after which the perfume needs to be reapplied. This is kind of a bummer in all Zara fragrances, I guess. I thought this might last a bit longer as this is an EDP, but alas that is not the case much. This category secures only 60 out of 100 as there is definitely a lot of scope for improvement here. Quantity and Price Point There are 3 sizes in which this fragrance is available. 1st is a 10ml bottle, which retails for Rs. 390 and comes in a roller ball packaging. This is followed by the 30ml, which is the one I own, and this retails for Rs. 590. This one is also good for carrying around as slips into the purse without any hassle. The biggest size is 100ml and that one retails at Rs. 1290. So, you can choose which size seems convenient for you to try and go for it. This is definitely a great fragrance and every fragrance lover must try this. I would recommend the 30ml over the roller ball as I personally don’t like roll-ons much. If you do, then great, you can try this at much lower price. You can also save some more money, if you keep an eye out for the clearance section in the ZARA app, that way you can grab amazing fragrance at great prices as well. From the price point, this gets a 70 maybe. It is not extremely cheap but yes when thinking about this being YSL’s dupe, this is quite affordable. Final Thoughts Yes, so overall definitely I would recommend this a 1000 times over. However, the name is what irks me here a bit. There is no element of gardenia in it and so why is it called so? Still wondering what is the response to this question. |
