No matter which social media platform you open these days, you will get to see one or two ads dedicated to this miraculous product called L’Oreal Paris Revitalift Crystal Micro Essence. Also, thousands of bloggers and influencers have also spoken about the benefits of this product. However, does it actually make any difference to your skin at all? Or is it just a gimmick? So, here let’s take a close look at the product. Initially I used it just before applying the makeup, like some kind of a base on which I can layer on the primer and the rest of the makeup. After couple of uses, I noticed that my skin kind of reacted less towards makeup. By that I mean, I tend to break out less nowadays. Now, I thought that since am only applying this on my skin before makeup, it is acting like a shield somehow to my pores and probably that is why the chemicals in makeup are not breaking me out. Before you read further into the blog, please keep in mind that I have oily and acne prone skin. So, I tend to break out really a lot from various products. Regardless of a primer on my face, if a foundation or any other product doesn’t gel well with my skin, the moment I take my makeup off it starts breaking me out. So, it was quite nice to see less breakouts or rather no break outs recently. I thought it would be nice for my skin if I start using it regularly as mentioned on the bottle itself. I should have done this from the beginning itself as now this is the first thing I apply on my face after washing my face with a face wash or a cleanser. After which I layer on the moisturizer and sunscreen. I have been using this twice a day as directed on the packaging for few days now, and what I can feel is that my skin is much smoother and plumper. This is kind of an effect I completely love. Since we are in the winters now, anyways my skin gets better during this season. So, actually how this works on my skin during the heat of the summers, is going to be its actual test. Nonetheless, whatever I can understand in the current season, my skin reacts this product marvelously.
It is truly a miraculous product that not only claims to smoothen out the skin, but also performs in reality. The other claim is radiance which I am not certain how far is effective, as being an oily skin girl my skin feels radiant all the time. Speaking of removing dullness from my skin, till now I have seen no such difference. However, am keeping my fingers crossed to check if prolonged usage can have an impact on the radiance claim. I know the price point is not too budget friendly for everyone. However, you can still give the mini version which is 22ml a try. The smallest bottle is 22ml and that retails for Rs. 250. However, you can always grab some discount on this. Try the small size and if you think this really makes some difference to your skin and you want to invest further in the bigger bottle, then you the 65ml or 130ml. That is precisely what I did. I tried the smaller bottle and am still using it but I love this product so much now that I have went ahead and purchased the 65ml as a backup. Since I am using the 22ml variant everyday now, I am sure I will be reaching out to the middle size in due time. Just a final note, this is going to be an investment for your skin that I believe you will not regret. However, if you don’t try you won’t know whether this actually does a good job on your skin or now. So, I will highly encourage you to give this one a try. I have heard for long that Cetaphil Gentle Skin Cleanser is a face wash that even doctors actually recommend. If a product is recommended by doctors then it is expected to work wonders on your skin, so I thought of trying this product. This post is going to look at this cleanser and dissect it in details.
Packaging The cleanser is a transparent liquid that is housed in a white plastic bottle with a flip open lid in blue color. Very basic and simple packaging. Nothing exceptional. Not that I was expecting a stunning packaging here as medically approved face washes or other skincare products have very basic packaging. This rather fits into that bill perfectly. Consistency and Quality As mentioned it is a clear liquid that is quite runny and light. From the consistency I didn’t expect it to foam a lot and that also turned out to be accurate. It lathers nicely but doesn’t create a lot of foam, but it is really gentle to apply on the face. It feels so smoothly, clean, and hydrating while applying it on the face. It has a faint scent to it, which doesn’t bother me much but I would have preferred it not to have any scent at all. Although, it claims to be fragrance free, I can still smell some soft fragrance in this. It cleans the face quite nicely without taking the life out of my face. It is not like those face washes that dries you out. Rather it feels good when you wash your face with it. Although it is gentle, since it is a wash, you need to put some kind of toner and moisturizer after this. I have oily, and acne-prone skin. So, I was happy this didn’t irritate my skin or break me out in the least. It is non-comedogenic so it cleans the pores really well and is quite effective. Quantity and Price Point For a bottle of 125ml, you need to pay Rs. 255, which is not too bad. This is a decent price point as there are tons of worthless face washes in the market that do no good and still cost a bomb. This one is something that is actually worth the money. So, regardless of what skin type you are, I think you can give this one a try. Since this is a face cleanser that is not only available offline in chemists’ shops, you can save some more money while purchasing online. Specifically during various skincare sales, you can get this one at cheaper rates as well. Even I didn’t pay the full price for the bottle I own. Final Thoughts Yes, only one thought. I recommend this as well. If it didn’t break me out then I believe it is safe to be used on sensitive skin as well. Nonetheless, you can give this one a try and see for yourself how mild and effective it is. Not only do I use it on a regular basis, but also use this cleanse my face after I have taken off makeup from my face. So, yes, highly recommend this product for everyone. If you are here looking for a clay mask that will instantly make your skin whiter and change the way you look, then this is not the blog for you. If you are here to find out about a clay mask that promises to deep clean your face, then yes please do read on as the title of this product means nothing to me. When I purchased this product I was just looking for a face mask that does the job and Lotus being a trusted brand for my family since my early years, this seemed like a good choice. Little did I know what the purpose of this mask was. Yes, I was that naïve even few years ago. Not that I am kind of an expert now. I still mess up in my skincare choices but now I read stuffs more on the packaging than earlier. So, here I am about to share my experience with this product from Lotus Herbals in all its glory.
Packaging This product comes in a plastic tube that has a flip open lid. Quite basic packaging with an image of a clay mask in the front and the details at the back. Nothing stunning but yes okay. The thick paste that comes out of this tube is very much similar to a toothpaste. It has a nice fragrance, which I think is not required as it might trigger off people with sensitive noses. I mean skincare products need not have fragrance, let alone strong fragrance in them. So, not quite happy with this. Consistency and Application Like I said, it has a toothpaste like consistency that is easy to spread on your face. All you need to do is wash your face with a face wash before, so that your pores are open and then blot the wetness off your face. Then gently spread this paste on your face and let it dry. There is no specific instruction as to how long you need to keep it on your face, as it takes about 25 mins to completely dry on my skin. As soon as it dries off, just wash it off. You are supposed to get bright, “white” skin as there are berberry and liquorice extracts in this mask. These ingredients are expected to lighten your complexion. Trust me I have used this for quite some time, as I paid for it and I want to get the value out of this product, nothing like “whitening” or “lightening” happens. Not that I was looking for either. I was just looking for a mask that cleans your pores deeply and makes your skin feel fresh and that is what I got. I have no complaints from the product as to how it performs. It is a clay mask and it is supposed to clean your face. It does that. Period. There is no requirement of false marketing. There is nothing whitening or lightening effect in this one. Not that I care but there are tons of people still you care about the fairness bandwagon. So, a trusted brand like Lotus Herbals, which even our mothers used to use need to correct their marketing strategy. No product can change the way a person looks from a skincare perspective. If your complexion is wheatish, dusky, or medium, you will remain that. I am a wheatish girl and no way I can become fair and I love my skin color. So, the product is just about good but I seriously have issues with the false promotion and marketing. Quantity and Price Point You get this product in two sizes. 60gms, which retails for Rs.190 and 120gms, which retails for Rs. 345. Online you can even get this product for cheaper prices. However, I will not recommend this product to anyone solely because of its name. There are thousands of girls especially in their teenage who do not have to go through this regressive thought of fairness means beautiful. Had this just been a clay mask, would have recommended it perhaps, as a mask it does its job. That’s about it. It is not supposed to do anything else and it doesn’t. Final Thoughts Regardless of the product, it is due to its name I will not recommend this product. You can live without this mask as well. It is nothing exceptional. It is just about okay and does its job. That’s it. Even amidst all the festivities, this year has an element of stress and sadness lingering in the air for all of us. Coronavirus has taken a toll on everyone. So, we cannot go out and have fun like we used to do in the earlier days. However, it is during these days, we need to stay calm and hold on to the positive thoughts that we are capable of overcoming these days and move towards a positive time. Each of us has our own way of calming down, meditation, listening to songs, reading, and the list can go on and on. Often it takes a very calming shower to get the much needed peace and positivity. That is precisely what I get from the Lily of Valley Shower Gel from Good Vibes. This post is going to be a dedicated one to this wonderful shower gel.
Packaging Very basic packaging of transparent plastic with a golden lid. Nothing out of this world, but simple and understated. It has the image of the lily of the valley flowers on a white sticker that is pasted throughout the bottle. For the packaging, a decent 7 out of 10 is good enough. Quality and Consistency There are two main ingredients in this shower gel, glycerin and lily of the valley and they are good enough to create a calming showering experience. There seems to be some element of lemon in it as well, which lends to the freshness of the shower gel. It is not only calming, but gentle on skin as well. It is mildly cleansing and softening, making the showering experience quite pleasurable. It is delicate, yet rich in the foam that gets created in the process of lathering up. It has a gel like consistency that fits every skin type. So, you don’t need to belong to a specific skin type to use this shower gel. What’s more? It is cruelty free, paraben and sulfate free. That means your skin is exposed to only goodness of these ingredients and no harmful chemicals. And to top it all, this shower gel has a beautiful fragrance that is reminiscent of the scent of incense sticks. Well, I quite enjoy this fragrance, in case you don’t then I will suggest you to stay out of it. Quantity and Price Point You get 100ml product at the price point of Rs. 125. This is already super affordable, but if you check Purplle.com during the various sales, you can bag this product at much cheaper rates. So, basically, you pay not a huge amount, but definitely get huge calming, refreshing, and enjoyable experience with this shower gel. Final Thoughts Only calm and happy thoughts come out of me when I think about this shower gel. More so given the price point, this shower gel is definitely highly recommended from my side. Everyone needs serum, we know it right? Serum for frizzy hair is what breathing is for humans. They make hair look alive, tangle free, and shiny. These are pretty much what is expected out of a serum, right? I have an additional requirement. It should not increase hair fall. If you have hair fall issues, then this might be an additional requirement for you as well. So, the serum that I love completely and have been using for many years is the Matrix Biolage Smoothproof 6-in-1 Deep Smoothing Serum and today I am going to look about this serum from every angle.
Packaging A plastic bottle with a plastic cap, which is ideal for carrying around such a liquid substance like serum. It has an orange colored bottle with a white cap, which is a basic packaging. Nothing astounding about the packaging, but the plastic bottle is of good quality so that a slight hit of any sort will not lead to any bump. Overall, quite decent in this category. Quality and Consistency All serums are supposed to be watery and this is no exception. All you need is a bit on your palm, warm it up by rubbing your hands and then apply the serum on wet hair. Of course you can use it on normal hair as well to keep the frizz away. I do it all the time but for this product, a little goes a long way. It has a beautiful faint scent that makes your hair smell great as well, which is always a great factor for me. The consistency is runny as serums are, but they make your hair super soft, shiny, and tangle free completely. It didn’t increase my hair fall which many popular serums have done to my hair. So, am completely in love with this serum. Quantity and Price Point For a 100ml bottle, you are supposed to pay Rs. 295. However, there are always discounts running online and offline at local stores as well, which ensure that you grab this product at a much lesser rate. So, overall it is a great purchase for anyone who tries it. Any website that sells cosmetics will surely have a stock of this one. So, you can check out any. Final Thoughts Definitely a good product and I highly recommend it for everyone. |
